| Brief Summary: |
In this project
Hardin Paving was replacing old brick manholes with new pre-cast manholes.
Pavement removal and excavation was only slightly larger than the
actual size of the manholes, leaving very tight spaces and crevices
to be backfilled. To obtain proper compaction in backfilling using
conventional methods, in such a limited access space, would be extremely
difficult. The simple solution was to use GEOFILL's flowable fill
(CLSM) on this project. |

| Brief
Summary: |
This
project involved installing sewers, laterals, and waterlines under
one of the busiest roads in Lake Zurich. CLSM was specified to expedite
the project's completion. Using GEOFIL's flowable fill (CLSM) on this
project allowed the road to be opened to traffic much faster than
if conventional granular backfill was used. In some cases, cars and
truck traffic were traveling over the GEOFILL in under an hour. |
